Military Equipment Inventory
Specialized firearms and ammunition of less than .50 caliber, including firearms and accessories
identified as assault weapons in Penal Code Section 30510 and Penal Code Section 30515, with
the exception of standard -issue firearms
1. Rifles

by snipers.

for training purposes on shooting ranges.

by snipers.

for on duty patrol rifles.

b. Capabilities, Purpose and Authorized Use:
Rifles address threats with more precision and/or at greater d istances than a
handgun and are authorized for use by LBPD policy.
c. Expected Lifespan:
Dependent on use and wear.
d. Training:
Officers are certified by POST approved instructors in the operation of a rifle.
Additionally, all members that operate any rifle are required to pass a range
qualification annually.

adjustable front grip, capable of firing standard 40MM less lethal
