Laguna Beach Police Department Laguna Beach PD Policy Manual CHIEF'S PREFACE The Mission of the Laguna Beach Police Department is "To be the safest coastal community in Orange County through exceptional policing and community engagement." We strive to achieve this goal through data-driven policing, using technology as a force multiplier, community outreach and engagement, and investing in our most valuable asset, our employees. We have created a collaborative and engaging culture by embracing our Department's core values of P.R.I.D.E. (Passion, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence). As the Chief of Police, I am proud to present a comprehensive Policy Manual for the employees of the Laguna Beach Police Department. Developed in conjunction with Lexipol, Inc., the policies were reviewed and adapted to incorporate procedures specific to the Laguna Beach Police Department and in accordance with local, state, and federal law. Lexipol has a long-standing and strong reputation for providing comprehensive policies that incorporate up-to-date legal information and widely accepted best practices. Lexipol was developed in order to simplify the many policies, regulations and department orders which permeate the various law enforcement organizations across California. The Laguna Police Department holds firm to the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics along with our Policy Manual to provide employees with guidance and expectations. I am proud of the commitment and character of our employees. Together we have made great strides in moving our department forward as we serve the Laguna Beach community in becoming the safest coastal community in Orange County. The information contained in our Laguna Beach Police Department Policy Manual should be reviewed on a continuous basis in order to remain current with the ongoing changes in the law.
