POLICY
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Detentions Bureau Compliance Section, in
accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), shall maintain incident data for
all reports of sexual abuse, assault, and harassment.
The Compliance Section shall conduct a review of each incident reported and evaluate the
effectiveness of its sexual abuse prevention, detection, response policies, practices, and
training.
All data shall be aggregated annually, and a report made available to the public on the
Sheriff’s Office public website.
