Page 1 of 6 KERN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE Detentions Bureau Policies and Procedures TITLE: PREA - DATA COLLECTION, REVIEWS AND AUDITS P-700 EFFECTIVE: REVIEWED: REVISED: UPDATED: July 14, 2014 07-11-24 12-11-14 07-11-24 APPROVED BY: REFERENCE: Detentions Bureau Chief Deputy Cindy Cisneros Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA) 42 U.S.C. 15601, PREA §115.86. §115.87, §115.88, §115.89, §115.93 POLICY The Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Detentions Bureau Compliance Section, in accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), shall maintain incident data for all reports of sexual abuse, assault, and harassment. The Compliance Section shall conduct a review of each incident reported and evaluate the effectiveness of its sexual abuse prevention, detection, response policies, practices, and training. All data shall be aggregated annually, and a report made available to the public on the Sheriff’s Office public website.
