Kern County Sheriff’s Office Policies and Procedures TITLE: TRAINING COMMITTEE NO: M-0800 APPROVED: Donny Youngblood, Sheriff-Coroner EFFECTIVE: January 1, 2026 REVIEWED: October 6, 2025 REVISED: October 6, 2025 UPDATED: December 23, 2025 M-0800-1 POLICY The Training Section Lieutenant shall establish a Training Committee, which will serve to assist in identifying training needs for the Sheriff’s Office. This committee shall comprise, but not be limited to, Training Section personnel, Internal Affairs Unit personnel, Professional Standards Unit personnel, and use of force experts. The Training Committee will be responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the curricula against current policies and the integration of use of force scenario-based training and adult learning theory.
