POLICY The Kern County Sheriff’s Office and the County of Kern utilize many different classifications of employees and contract personnel to fulfill the mission of the Sheriff’s Office on a daily basis. In certain circumstances, it may be necessary for individuals who are not Peace Officers to be in close proximity to incarcerated people. The purpose of this policy is to help provide a safe environment for those individuals and the incarcerated people in Sheriff’s Office custody.
