INTRODUCTION
You are entering perhaps the most important training period of your career, the Detentions Training Program.
During the following weeks, you will be instructed and tested on what you must know to be a competent
Sheriff’s Detention Deputy. Each day, you will be evaluated by a Detentions Training Officer (DTO) on how well
you perform the basic job tasks.
The Detentions Training Program spans a six-week period. It is designed so each trainee works side by side with
