POLICY The Kern County Sheriff’s Office recognizes circumstances exist in law enforcement where the use of covert/undercover identifications can help enhance officer safety and further the law enforcement mission. In order to protect officers, while allowing the best possible means to succeed in specialized job assignments, The Kern County Sheriff’s Office authorizes specified deputies to obtain and use covert/undercover identification cards issued through government entities.
