Property stored in the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Property Room is classified as follows:  Evidence: Any property that comes into the custody of the Sheriff’s Office that may tend to prove or disprove the commission of a crime or the identity of a suspect, pursuant to an official criminal investigation.  Found Property: Non-evidentiary property coming into the custody of the Sheriff’s Office and whose owner may or may not be known. Property that has been determined to be lost or abandone
