POLICY
Pursuant to Government Code Section 29430 et. seq., the Board of Supervisors established the
Sheriff's Special Appropriation Fund. The Sheriff-Coroner may use the funds for:
Expenses incurred in criminal cases arising in the county.
Expenses necessarily incurred by the Sheriff-Coroner in the preservation of peace.
Expenses necessarily incurred by the Sheriff-Coroner in the suppression of crime.
ALLOWABLE EXPENDITURES:
The expenses that require cash outlays related to criminal cases, the preservation of peace and
the suppression of crime will include, but will not be limited to:
Payments to, or on behalf of, informants.
Purchase of evidence.
Expenses incurred for investigative activities.
Purchase of emergency suppli
