As such, many new improvements in firearms, accessories and procedures become available to help law enforcement do its job more effectively and more safely. While not all such changes are necessarily for the better, many are, and should be evaluated for incorporation into the Sheriff’s Office’s equipment inventory or policies and procedures. The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for recommendation, evaluation, and implementation of new firearms, firearms accessories, or procedures for the Sheriff’s Office which will benefit the Sheriff’s Office in fulfillment
