POLICY It is the policy of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office to allow incarcerated people to marry while incarcerated in its facilities in accordance with current State of California statutes. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office neither encourages nor discourages in-custody marriages. The Sheriff’s Office will make reasonable accommodations for those who are legally able to become married in accordance with California law.
