APPLICABILITY When used in this policy, the term officer or deputy refers to deputy sheriffs only. Only Directive A of this policy refers to detentions deputies. POLICY It shall be the policy of the Sheriff’s Office that officers engaged in vehicular pursuits of actual or suspected law violators proceed in a manner consistent with the safety and well being of all persons. When circumstances are such that the life or safety of any person is unreasonably endangered
