BARGANING UNITS
This policy is implemented for the Kern County Sheriff’s Command Association (KCSCA),
Kern Law Enforcement Association (KLEA), and Kern County Detentions Officer Association
(KCDOA) bargaining unit employees. Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
bargaining unit employees will continue to adhere to DPPM C-0500 Employee Drug Testing.
POLICY
Employees of law enforcement agencies are highly visible representatives of government and are
entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the community they
serve, as well as delivery of effective police services. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has a
duty and responsibility to the residents and visitors of Kern County to ensure its officers and
employees perform their dut
