POLICY
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is divided into Bureaus, Divisions, Sections, Units, and
Details, to aid in the efficient and orderly performance of its duties. This organizational structure
is set in part by the Board of Supervisors (budget units), and by the Sheriff-Coroner, the
Undersheriff, and/or the Chief Deputies. No changes shall be made in the organizational
structure without written approval by the Sheriff-Coroner or the Undersheriff.
