The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is committed to work in partnership with our community to enhance the safety, security, and quality of life for the residents and visitors of Kern County through professional public safety services. New Policy and Procedure K-0303 Visible Identifiers Effective January 1, 2026, Senate Bill 805 established Government Code 7288 and Penal Code 13654, regarding visible identifiers for sworn personnel. January 1, 2026, law enforcement agencies shall maintain and publicly post a written policy on the display/use of visible identifiers. KCSOPPM K-0303 was created to define “visibly display identification” as well as Penal Code 13654.
