TRAINING BULLETIN Issue : 25-69 DATE: 11/17/2025 Policy Update – KCSOPPM M-0500 Field Training Program (FTP) On August 19, 2025, a review of KCSOPPM M-0500 – Field Training Program (FTP) was completed, and changes were made which are outlined below. Policy Update Highlight Key Updates Revisions were made in the “Procedure B – Field Training Program Graduates not assigned to field positions” and “Procedure C – Community Service Technician (CST) Field Training” sections. Summary of Procedure B Personnel returning to field operations after a non-patrol assignment, a prolonged absence, or a promotion to Senior Deputy may request, or be directed by a supervisor, to complete a temporary evaluation period in the Field Training Program (FTP). This evaluation, conducted by a certified FTO under the oversight of the FTP Supervisor/Administrator/Coordinator (SAC), lasts a minimum of two weeks and is intended to confirm the employee can perform at the level of a competent solo-beat deputy.
