TRAINING BULLETIN Issue: 25-45 DATE: July 30, 2025 California Assembly Bill 2645 Electronic Toll Collection Systems and Information Sharing: Law Enforcement Effective January 1, 2025, California Assembly Bill 2645 (AB 2645) amended Section 31490 of the Streets and Highways Code to enhance information sharing between transportation agencies and law enforcement. Prior to this legislation, transportation agencies were generally prohibited from sharing personally identifiable information, including license plate numbers, with law enforcement agencies unless a search warrant was obtained.
