UPDATED KCSOPPM H-0550: MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS RESPONSE POLICY
AND DISPATCH PROTOCOLS REFERENCE GUIDE
Recent reviews of KCSOPPM H-0550: Mental Health Crisis Response policy and the
Dispatch Protocols Reference Guide were completed, and both were updated to ensure
the Kern County Sheriff’s Office is following best practices in relation to the way personnel
are dispatched and respond to mental health crises.

By signing this training bulletin, you are indicating that you have reviewed this training
bulletin, KCSOPPM H-0550, and the reference guide in their entirety. All sworn personnel
in the Deputy Sheriff, Detentions Deputy, Park Ranger, and Dispatch ranks are required
to complete this training no later than Friday, August 29, 2025.
