2025 Second Quarter Bias-Free Policing Training: Jennings vs. Childersburg
As good practice and for the Second Quarter of 2025, all personnel in the Deputy Sheriff and Park
Ranger ranks are required to review the attached case law, Jennings vs. Childersburg, watch the video
of law enforcement interaction with Jennings, and KCSOPPM J-2300.
In summary, officers arrested Jennings, who failed to produce identification after a reporting party
advised they had observed a young Black male and an unfamiliar vehicle near her elderly neighbors’
home. Upon being contacted by law enforcement, Jennings stated he was watching over the residence
for the neighbor who was out of town. Th
