TRAINING BULLETIN ISSUE: 25-27 DATE: June 4, 2025 KCSOPPM K-0401: Body Armor On May 29, 2025, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office’s Body Armor policy under KCSOPPM K-0401 was revised and includes the following changes/clarifications: • The removal of exemptions for when personnel do not have to wear body armor. • Clarification to what steps are taken when body armor is found to be defective. • Language was added to include Community Service Technicians (CSTs) and Park Rangers. To ensure compliance with KCSOPPM K-0401, personnel are required to review the revised policy in its entirety, which can be accessed via the following link: • K 0401 - Body Armor.docx All staff of the Deputy Sheriff, Detentions Deputy, Park Ranger, and CST ranks are required to review and acknowledge this training bulletin no later than July 4, 2025.
