DONNY YOUNGBLOOD 1350 Norris Road, Bakersfield, California 93308 Sheriff-Coroner Telephone (661) 391-7500 TRAINING BULLETIN ISSUE: 25-15 DATE: April 25, 2025 nexTEST User Guide and Required Annual Online Testing The National Crime Information Center (NCIC), the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), require all agency employees and volunteers to test annually. To comply with the enhanced training and security policies, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office will utilize the nexTEST online application to meet these requirements. All agency employees and volunteers shall take this test within 30 days of receiving the NCIC certification expiration email. Before You Begin:  The nexTEST application can be accessed from any device with internet connectivity.  Tests are not timed, allowing users to save their progress and return later.  If you do not pass your test, you can retake it immediately, with no limit on the number of attempts.
