Domestic Violence Training Update: Death Investigation Reference Guide
To ensure compliance with California Penal Code Section 13519(g), ALL sworn personnel
at the rank of Sergeant and below were required to participate in the POST Learning
Portal self-paced training, entitled “Domestic Violence Response Update, s2526.”
Since the distribution of Training Bulletin 25-03, POST has added a legal update to
include additional legislatively mandated investigative steps when investigating deaths
where the decedent had a verifiable history of domestic violence.
