As part of the implementation of SB 519, the BSCC has amended Title 15, Section 1046, Death in Custody. Based on these changes, the Detentions Bureau Manual C-900 Incarcerated Person Death policy has been revised. This bulletin provides a brief summary of those changes. Reporting Changes To incorporate the newly implemented reporting requirements, the following timelines have changed or been added: The Detentions Compliance Section Manager or their designee shall: • Submit the report to the Attorney General of the State of California within 10 days.
