The changes have further defined and expanded the responsibilities of local law enforcement regarding transfers of incarcerated persons to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody. • Verbiage changes have been made throughout the policy from charges to convictions. • TRUST/TRUTH Act: Recent changes limit the ability of local law enforcement to notify ICE of incarcerated people pending release based on qualifying convictions listed in Government Code 7282.5(a) for immigration enforcement purposes, unless specific charges are met.
