The purpose of the memo is to notify law enforcement of changes to the way a Disabled Person Parking (DPP) is queried in the California Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS). Prior to this change, law enforcement agencies were able to query a DPP Placard in CLETS without the use of a file code. Now, agencies conducting CLETS inquiries for DPP placards must use file code “S” to receive current placard information.
