This policy has been updated and added to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Department Policy and Procedures Manual (DPPM with an effective date of October 20, 2022. You can refer to DPPM J-3600 for further information by clicking on the link below, or by visiting SheriffNet, Procedures, Publication, & MOUs, under Department Procedures Manuals. The follow is a summarization of the changes made to Department Policy & Procedure J-3600 Body Worn Cameras:  Unless otherwise authorized by the rank of Lieutenant or above, all deputies who are assigned a BWC shall wear the device when working in any assignment where BWC’s are deployed and will activate the BWC as provided in this policy.
