TOM DaRé , CHIEF OF POLICE Professional Standards Division NUMBER: 2022 -07 ISSUED: July 1 , 2022 FI Card s On January 1, 2022, the Penal Code 186.22 changed the definition of what constitutes a criminal street gang. These changes needed to be reflected in the PC 186.22 gang enhancement notification page of the paper FI cards. There were previously 33 code subsections that constituted the crimes officers could use to help define a group as a criminal street gang. Those code subsections have been reduced to 26 cri mes. In order to conform to updated legal definitions, GGPD officers should discard outdated versions of the paper FI card and replace the cards with the updated versions. They will most easily be recognized as the updated version by checking to see if the crimes are listed A -Z instead of 1 -33. If there are any questions, officers are encouraged to contact any member of GSU. Prepared by Master Officer R. Richmond TRAINING BULLETIN
