308Fremont Police Department
Police Armory
308.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Armory will be staffed by the Rangemaster/Armorer and assistant Armorers. Access to the
Armory shall be restricted to authorized personnel only. The purpose of this policy is to establish
guidelines and rules for effective management of the Armory.
308.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ARMORY STAFF
The Rangemaster/Armorer shall oversee the efficient running of the Armory and be responsible
for budgeting and ordering supplies.
308.3 ARMORY ACCESS
(a)Individuals/personnel are restricted from entering the Armory except the following:
1.Staff officers/personnel (Chief of Police and Captains)
2.Lieutenants (as duties require)
3.Sergeants (as duties require) in emergency situations
4.Assigned personnel (Armory officer and assistants)
5.Individuals/personnel, under emergency situations, and when authorized by the
Chief of Police, a Captain, or, in their absence, a Lieutenant
308.4 EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY REQUESTS
(a)Supply requests for training or school shall be submitted by the Training Sergeant to
the Armorer or assistant Armorer seven days prior to date supplies are needed.
(b)Supplies and weapons being returned to the Armory during hours Armorers are
present shall be checked into the Armory by Armorers.
(c)Weapons and gas supplies being returned when Armorers are not present shall be
logged into the Equipment Room.
1.All weapons shall be checked to see that they are unloaded prior to bringing
them into the building, and check gas containers to see that they are secure and
safe from accidental discharge.
2.All other equipment and supplies shall be secured in the Ammo Bunker.
(d)It shall be the responsibility of the Armorers to check weapons and gas equipment
from Equipment Room into the Armory.
(e)All equipment secured in the Ammo Bunker shall also be logged into the Armory by
Armorers.
