A. PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to establish and maintain guidelines for the use of non-deadly and deadly force by members of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. It is also the purpose of this policy that any uses of force by Department members shall be documented in a timely, complete, and accurate manner and subject to a thorough and objective investigatory review process to ensure compliance with state law and department policy.
