A. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to describe the Department approved firearms, ammunition,
accessories, loaner procedures and their qualification requirements. The lists of specific
Department approved firearms, rifles, shotguns, ammunition and accessories are
maintained by and accessible through the Training Unit. These lists are maintained outside
of this policy due to their periodic updates and changes.
