??????????? Eating;
??????????? Drinking; (except non-alcoholic beverages carried in a visible container.?
However, these may not be carried as you cross the children;

??????????? Radios or TV-'s;
??????????? Reading materials;
??????????? Firearms or weapons of any kind;
??????????? Sleeping;
??????????? Wearing of any clothes other than city issue;
??????????? Beepers;
??????????? Parking of private vehicles within 100 feet of your post; and
??????????? Parking on sidewalks, private property, or bicycle paths.
You are to be courteous to parents, teachers, and the children.? Should you have a
problem with a child, notify the school office and your supervisor as soon as possible.?
You are not to take any disciplinary action against a child.
ATTENDANCE - ABSENTEEISM AND TARDINESS
Punctuality and attendance is of the
Utmost importance to provide and ensure the
Safety of the school children.
Absenteeism - If a guard is absent more
Than 12 days a year without a written
Medical excuse or a request for a leave of
Absence, the guard may be eligible for
Termination.
Tardiness- All tardiness will be
Appropriately documented and docked.
Excessive tardiness may be grounds for
Dismissal.
An employee shall not be tardy in reporting
For duty, nor when on duty, delinquent in
Returning to assigned workstation, post, or
Area.
If a guard is absent from their assigned post
For three (3) consecutive days without
Notification to a supervisor, the guard may
be terminated.

APPEARANCE AND DRESS CODE: Complete Uniform - shoes (1 pair); pants (3);
shirts (5); jacket (1); baseball cap (1); fluorescent and retro reflective vest (1); orange
gloves (1 pair); and whistle (1).
Uniforms and city ID - All uniforms, equipment and city ID's are the property of the
Florida City Police Department.? Upon termination or resignation, all uniforms
equipment and city ID's must be returned as issued.? All jackets should be dry-cleaned.
Uniforms and safety equipment must be worn while on duty.? Vest, gloves, and
whistles are mandatory and will be worn and used for safety and visibility.? All
uniforms must be clean and neat in appearance.
No personal clothing of any kind will be worn while on duty.? These will include
personal:
??????????? Hats;
??????????? Sweaters, Jackets, Coats;
??????????? Umbrellas;
??????????? Shoes (unless given permission by the program coordinator); and
??????????? Jewelry in compliance with SOP 15.4 of the Departmental Manual.
Appearance will be neat and clean at all times on duty, as guards are representatives of
the Florida City Police Department.
RESPONSIBILITY OF ISSUED
EQUIPMENT
It is your responsibility to check your equipment and report any and all damaged, lost,
or stolen materials immediately.
OTHER RULES AND REGULATIONS CONCERNING DEPARTMENTAL
PROPERTY
General:
Employees shall ensure that departmental property is used only for the purpose and in
the manner intended, and are responsible for its proper care and custody.
Use and Care:
Precautionary efforts shall be made to prevent property loss or damage due to improper
use or negligence.? Equipment shall be secured when unattended.
Surrender of Departmental Property:
Upon termination of employment, all departmental return non-expendable items may
result in an assessment against any wages due the employee.
Presumption of Responsibility:

When departmental property reflects evidence of damage not previously reported, the
last person having use or custody shall be deemed responsible.
Alteration of Departmental Property:?
Except for uniform alteration, departmental property issued to an individual will not be
altered or modified without written permission of the supervisor.
