I. POLICY Digital video and audio recording will enhance the effective and efficient delivery of police services and will record actions, conditions, and statements that could be used in the prosecution of criminal and traffic offenses. Mobile digital video/audio recording (MDR) equipment has been demonstrated to be of value in the prosecution of traffic violations and other related offenses. It will be the policy of the Delray Beach Police Department that the mobile digital video recording equipment will be utilized to produce video and audio recordings in a format admissible in our courts as an impartial witness to the events as they occurred. The procedures outlined will ensure the integrity of the system and its acceptance by the courts. Violation of this written directive will result in disciplinary action.
