This pandemic policy addresses the essential and critical resources needed to ensure the communication infrastructure remains responsive to the requirements that allow for effective response to public safety concerns and services provided to the citizens of Delano. 208.2 RISK ANALYSIS Pandemics can occur at any time and are potentially disruptive to providing essential services to the public. It is recognized that in the event of an actual situation, modifications to the plan may be necessitated to ensure the safety of personnel, and the community. 208.3 STATEMENT OF INTENT This pandemic plan is a documented strategy for the Delano Police Department's continuity in the event of a widespread outbreak of a dangerous infectious disease. This pandemic plan lays out how the department will continue to provide essential services through a sustained period with significant employee absenteeism. This also specifies preventative measures for "non- pharmaceutical intervention," which means, essentially, how the employees can minimize the risk of a contagion by their actions.
