I. PURPOSE:
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the response to resistance by members of the Davie
Police Department. All members will be issued copies of and be instructed on this policy prior to receiving
equipment that could be used for lethal or less-lethal force and before they are authorized to carry a firearm,
apprehend fleeing felons or be placed in a position where they may utilize control. [4.02]
