PHYSICAL SHOW-UP AND LINE-UP PROCEDURES
To establish a procedure to ensure a proper and orderly physical show-up and line-up within the
guidelines of current court procedures and precedents. Physical show-ups and line-ups are used
by investigators to identify suspects in a criminal offense, when a victim/witness is given the
opportunity to view the suspect in an atmosphere set specifically for the victim/witness to proclaim
their recognition of the suspect as responsible person in a given crime.
The physical identification falls within the following two areas: Show-ups and live line-up.
