CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS COMPONENT SOP MANUAL - CHAPTER 1 CHAPTER 1 ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION Criminal Investigations shall be under the general administration and direction of a sworn member of the Department appointed by the Chief of Police, who reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Operations. Conformity to policies set forth by the Chief of Police under the authority of the City Charter is the responsibility of the Supervisor of Criminal Investigations for the proper administration and enforcement of all State Statutes and City Ordinances of the City of Coral Springs. Criminal Investigations is separated into six (6) areas of responsibility. Four (4) of the areas are supervised by a sworn supervisor; General Investigations, Economic Crimes, Special Victims and Crimes Against Persons. The fourth, Crime Scene Investigations, and fifth, Evidence, are supervised by a Civilian Supervisor. Each of the Sergeants and Civilian Supervisor report directly to the Component Supervisor. The Sergeants and Civilian Supervisor shall administer and supervise the work of all members under their command. Staffing for each unit will be determined as required to meet the needs of the Department.
