I. POLICY
The Department has established a system for recording reports of criminal
offenses, traffic crashes, and other reported incidents. All reports shall be written
in detail and in such a manner as to be easily understandable to any reader and are
used for field services, investigative, and administrative purposes.
Citizens utilize these reports for insurance purposes; the State of Florida for
prosecutorial reasons. Field reports, "No reported" incidents, and dispatch-
generated reports are the written records of the Aventura Police Department's daily
law enforcement activities.
