GEN1-14A - TRAFFIC CRASH

Atlantis Police Department

Policy Text
I. POLICY: The Atlantis Police Department has established guidelines for traffic crash investigation and reporting practices. To ensure that a thorough crash investigation is completed, officers will collect factual information identifying and describing the results of the crashes in terms of damage to vehicles and roadside objects, injuries to people, marks and residue on the road, and final positions of vehicles and bodies. The investigating officer will submit his or her interpretation of these facts on the appropriate crash report form in terms of the behavior of road users involved and, sometimes, the peculiar combinations of factors required to produce that particular crash.
