Explicación Simple

Si alguien tiene deudas y decide vender sus cosas para pagar, no puede engañar a los acreedores para que crean que tiene más o menos de lo que realmente tiene. Hacer esto es considerado un delito serio.

Es como cuando un jugador de fútbol finge una lesión para que el árbitro le dé un penal. Si engaña a los demás, está rompiendo las reglas del juego.

Imagina que Juan tiene muchas deudas y decide vender su auto para pagar. Pero, en lugar de decir la verdad sobre el estado del auto, le dice a su acreedor que es nuevo y vale mucho más. Esto podría meterlo en problemas legales.

RCW 9.45.100 - Fraud in assignment for benefit of creditors Every person who, having made, or being about to make, a general assignment of his property to pay his debts, shall by color or aid of any false or fraudulent representation, pretense, token or writing induce any creditor to participate in the benefits of such assignments, or to give any release or discharge of his claim or any part thereof, or shall connive at the payment in whole or in part of any false, fraudulent or fictitious claim, shall be guilty of a gross misdemeanor.
