Sec. 12.703. POINT-OF-SALE SYSTEM. (a) The department may issue a license, stamp, tag, permit, or another similar item authorized by this code or federal law through the use of automated equipment and a point-of-sale system. (b) The department may designate an entity to install the system for the issuance of licenses, stamps, permits, tags, or other similar items. A designated entity may collect revenue for the department from license deputies. (c) The commission by rule may set the amount of compensation for a point-of-sale entity.
