María perdió su trabajo y está recibiendo ayuda de desempleo. Encuentra un trabajo en una tienda que le paga más de lo que recibe de ayuda, y además, es algo que puede hacer. Según esta ley, ese trabajo es considerado adecuado para ella.
📜 Texto Original del Estatuto (Inglés)
Sec. 209.047. SUITABLE WORK. (a) For the purposes of this
subchapter, and subject to Subsections (b) and (c), suitable work for
an individual is work:
(1) within the individual's capabilities;
(2) for which the gross average weekly remuneration payable
exceeds the sum of:
(A) the individual's weekly extended benefit amount
computed under Section 209.061; and
(B) the amount, if any, of supplemental unemployment
compensation benefits, as defined in Section 501(c)(17)(D) of the
Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (26 U.S.C. Section 501(c)(17)(D)),
payable to the individual for that week; and
(3) that pays wages not less than the greater of:
(A) the minimum wage under Section 6(a)(1) of the Fair
Labor Standards Act of 1938 (29 U.S.C. Section 206(a)(1)), without
regard to any exemption; or
(B) the applicable state or local minimum wage.
(b) If an individual furnishes satisfactory evidence to the
commission that the individual's prospects for obtaining work in the
