Si compras un boleto de avión muy barato y no preguntas de dónde viene, podrías estar en problemas. La ley dice que si no investigas, se asume que sabías que el boleto era ilegal.

Es como si te ofrecieran un reloj de lujo a un precio increíblemente bajo. Si no preguntas cómo lo consiguieron y luego resulta que es robado, podrías tener problemas por no investigar.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan compra un boleto de tren a mitad de precio de un vendedor en la calle. No le pregunta nada, solo paga y se sube al tren. Si luego se entera de que el vendedor no tenía derecho a vender ese boleto, Juan podría tener problemas legales por no haber averiguado.

SECTION 16-14-90. Presumption of knowledge that transportation ticket obtained at discount was fraudulently acquired. It is permissible to infer that a person who obtains at a discount price a ticket issued by an airline, railroad, steamship, or other transportation company from other than an authorized agent of the company which was acquired in violation of Section 16-14-60(a) without reasonable inquiry to ascertain that the person from whom it was obtained had a legal right to possess knew that the ticket was acquired under circumstances constituting a violation of Section 16-14-60(a).
