Si alguien tiene un auto y no puede demostrar que es suyo, el gobierno puede quitarle el auto y venderlo. El dinero que se haga de la venta se usa para pagar los gastos del proceso legal.

Es como si un profesor encuentra una tarea que no tiene nombre. Si el estudiante no puede probar que la tarea es suya, el profesor la guarda y decide qué hacer con ella.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan compra un auto de segunda mano, pero el vendedor no le da los documentos. Si la policía descubre que el auto fue robado y Juan no puede probar que es suyo, el auto puede ser confiscado y vendido. Juan perdería su dinero y el auto.

(c) Proceedings if owner unknown.--If ownership of the vehicle is not established to the satisfaction of the court, the vehicle shall be confiscated by the court and sold immediately, and the proceeds shall be used to pay the costs of proceedings and the balance, if any, shall be forwarded to the department to be transmitted to the State Treasurer for deposit in the Motor License Fund.
