Explicación Simple

Si tienes un vehículo eléctrico de vecindario, puedes cruzar calles con límites de velocidad de 35 mph o menos. Pero si la calle es más rápida, solo puedes cruzar en semáforos.

Es como cuando decides cruzar una calle. Si es una calle tranquila, puedes hacerlo sin problemas, pero si es una carretera muy transitada, necesitas esperar a que el semáforo esté en verde.

Imagina que Ana tiene un vehículo eléctrico de vecindario. Ella quiere cruzar una calle de su barrio donde el límite de velocidad es de 25 mph. Puede hacerlo sin problemas, pero si desea cruzar una carretera más grande donde el límite es de 50 mph, debe esperar a un semáforo.

(1) A neighborhood electric vehicle may enter an intersection and cross any highway or roadway under the jurisdiction of a local authority where the posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour or less, provided that, if the highway or roadway is more than two lanes or is divided, such crossing shall only occur at signalized intersections. (2) A neighborhood electric vehicle may enter an intersection and cross any highway or roadway under the jurisdiction of a local authority where the posted speed limit is in excess of 35 miles per hour only at a signalized intersection.
