Explicación Simple

Si ves algo malo relacionado con drogas y lo cuentas, no te pueden castigar por hacerlo. Solo necesitas tener una buena razón para reportarlo.

Es como si estuvieras en una fiesta y ves a alguien haciendo trampa en un juego. Si le cuentas al organizador, no te dirán que tú también hiciste trampa, siempre que lo hayas hecho con buenas intenciones.

Imagina que Juan ve a su vecino, Pedro, vendiendo sustancias ilegales. Juan decide avisar a la policía porque le preocupa la seguridad de su comunidad. Gracias a la ley, Juan no puede ser acusado de nada por haber reportado a Pedro, siempre que lo haya hecho de buena fe.

ORS 475.101 Immunity for reporting violation ORS 475.101 Immunity for reporting violation Text Annotations A person who, in good faith, makes a report of a violation of ORS 475.752 (Prohibited acts generally) to 475.980 (Affirmative defense to ORS 475.969, 475.971, 475.975 (1) and 475.976 (1)) and who has reasonable grounds for making the report is immune from any civil or criminal liability that might otherwise be incurred or imposed with respect to making the report or to the content of the report. The person has the same immunity with respect to participating in a judicial proceeding resulting from the report.
