Devolución de fugitivos a Oregón

Explicación Simple

Si alguien escapa de la cárcel o viola su libertad condicional, el Gobernador de Oregón puede pedir a otro estado que lo devuelva. Para hacer esto, emite un documento que autoriza a un agente a recoger a esa persona y llevarla de vuelta a Oregón.

Es como cuando un profesor llama a los padres de un estudiante que se escapó de la escuela, pidiéndoles que lo traigan de vuelta para que reciba sus lecciones.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Carlos, un residente de Oregón, se escapa de la prisión en su estado y se esconde en California. El Gobernador de Oregón envía una solicitud al Gobernador de California para que lo devuelva. Un agente se encarga de recoger a Carlos y llevarlo de vuelta a Oregón para enfrentar la justicia.

ORS 133.827 Warrant to agent to return fugitive from this state ORS 133.827 Warrant to agent to return fugitive from this state Text Annotations   1 Whenever the Governor of this state shall demand a person charged with crime or with escaping from confinement or breaking the terms of security release, probation or parole in this state from the chief executive of any other state, or from the Chief Justice or an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia authorized to receive such demand under the laws of the United States, the Governor shall issue a warrant under the seal of this state to some agent or agents, commanding the agent to receive the person so charged if delivered to the agent and convey the person to the proper officer of the county in this state in which the offense was committed.
