Explicación Simple

Si alguien te da un arma porque no puede tenerla por razones legales, tú no deberías dársela de nuevo hasta que esté permitido. Si haces esto y el abusador obtiene el arma, podrías tener problemas legales.

Es como si un amigo te prestara su bicicleta porque no puede usarla, pero no debes dejársela de nuevo hasta que él tenga el permiso para manejarla otra vez.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Pedro tiene una orden de restricción y no puede poseer armas. Su amigo Juan acepta un arma de Pedro, pero no puede devolvérsela hasta que la orden se acabe y Pedro tenga un permiso válido para poseerla. Si Juan le da el arma antes de que eso suceda, podría meterse en problemas.

Penalidades

Podrías enfrentar un cargo por un delito grave si no cumples con las reglas establecidas.

A person who accepts a transferred firearm from an abusing party or offender pursuant to section260C.201, subdivision 3;518B.01, subdivision 6;609.2242, subdivision 3; or609.749, subdivision 8, is guilty of a gross misdemeanor if the abusing party or offender obtains possession of the transferred firearm while the person is prohibited from possessing firearms. It is an affirmative defense to a violation of this section that the third party who accepted the transferred firearm exercised due care to ensure that the abusing party or offender could not access the firearm. The third party shall not return the firearm to the abusing party or offender until the prohibiting time period imposed under section260C.201, subdivision 3;518B.01, subdivision6;609.2242, subdivision 3; or609.749, subdivision 8, has expired and the abusing party or offender presents a current, valid transferee permit or passes a federal background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.
