Explicación Simple

Si alguien miente en un anuncio para vender algo, eso es publicidad engañosa. Puede meterse en problemas por hacer que otros compren algo que no es cierto.

Es como cuando un amigo te dice que un videojuego es increíble, pero en realidad es aburrido. Si te lo vende así, te sientes engañado.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan tiene una tienda de bicicletas. Publica un anuncio diciendo que vende bicicletas a mitad de precio, pero en realidad esas bicicletas nunca han estado a ese precio. Si alguien compra una, se siente engañado y Juan podría tener problemas por publicidad engañosa.

Penalidades

Puede ser castigado con cárcel por hasta un año si es declarado culpable.

MCL 750.33 - False advertising; penalty; excepted participants in publication Sec. 33.
