Explicación Simple

Si alguien pone una firma falsa en un papel que parece oficial, eso es un delito. También es un delito tener monedas falsas, ya sea que tengas menos de cinco o más. La ley castiga a las personas que intentan hacer pasar estas cosas como verdaderas.

Es como si alguien hiciera un dibujo de un billete de 100 dólares y tratara de comprar algo con él. Aunque el dibujo se vea bien, no es dinero real y usarlo es un problema.

Imagina que Juan trabaja en una empresa que nunca ha tenido un director llamado Carlos. Pero Juan decide poner la firma de Carlos en un cheque para sacar dinero de la empresa. Esto es un crimen porque está usando una firma falsa para engañar a otros.

Usar una firma falsa se considera falsificación, y tener monedas falsas puede llevar a penas de prisión de hasta cadena perpetua o multas significativas.

MCL 750.259 - Affixing fictitious signature Sec. 259. Affixing fictitious signature—If any fictitious or pretended signature, purporting to be the signature of an officer or agent of any corporation, shall be fraudulently affixed to any instrument or writing, purporting to be a note, draft or other evidence of debt, issued by said corporation, with intent to pass the same as true, it shall be deemed a forgery, though no such person may ever have been an officer or agent of such corporation, nor ever have existed. MCL 750.260 - Coins; counterfeiting and possession Sec. 260. Counterfeiting and possession of coins—Any person who shall counterfeit any gold or silver coin, current by law or usage within this state, and every person who shall have in his possession, at the same time, 5 or more pieces of false money or coin, counterfeited in the similitude of any gold or silver coin current as aforesaid, knowing the same to be false and counterfeit, and with intent to utter or pass the same as true, shall be guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for life, or for any term of years. Possession of less than 5 pieces of counterfeit coin—Any person who shall have in his possession any number of pieces less than 5, of the counterfeit coin mentioned in the next preceding section, knowing the same to be counterfeit, with intent to utter and pass the same as true, and any person who shall utter, pass, or tender in payment as true, any such counterfeit coin, knowing the same to be false and counterfeit, shall be guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment in the state prison not more than 10 years, or by a fine of not more than 5,000 dollars.
