Explicación Simple

Esta ley habla sobre las agresiones que ocurren entre parejas, exparejas o personas que comparten hijos. Si alguien es encontrado culpable, el juez puede decidir si le da una multa, prisión o ambas cosas.

Es como cuando un entrenador de fútbol decide si un jugador debe hacer una penalización o quedarse en la banca, dependiendo de lo que hizo en el juego.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan y María tienen una fuerte discusión y Juan empuja a María. Si María decide denunciarlo, Juan podría enfrentar una multa o prisión. Dependiendo del juez, podría recibir solo una multa o una combinación de ambas.

(iii) A violation of a law of another state or of a local ordinance of a political subdivision of this state or of another state substantially corresponding to a violation described in subparagraph (i) or (ii). (b) "Dating relationship" means frequent, intimate associations primarily characterized by the expectation of affectional involvement.
